Moving Items to an Attribute List
In several cases, attributes must be added to a trick or a book to make later searches more useful. For instance, a book will have one or more authors; a trick may involve several props, or sleights.
This type of operation is handled in The Magic Database by presenting a list of attributes on the left side of the screen or panel, and a blank list on the right, into which you move the desired attributes.
There are several ways in which you can move the attributes:
- Use your mouse to scroll to the desired item, and select it by clicking on it. (You may select more than one item by holding down the <Ctrl> key while selecting the additional items.) Click on the button labeled "Add . . ." or press the <Enter> key, or the <Alt><a> key combination to move the selected item(s) to the list on the right.
- Use your mouse to scroll to the item, and double-click on it. This will move the item directly to the list on the right. If you select more than one item at a time, a double-click will move them all to the right hand box.
- Use your mouse to position the cursor in the left hand list box. Type the first few characters of the item, and the list will be positioned to the desired item. Hit the <Enter> key, or use any of the other methods described above to move the data from the left hand list box to the right hand box.
