Find a Trick in The Magic DataBase™
As mentioned earlier, the entire purpose of creating The Magic Database™ was to make it easy to find tricks. You can search the database many ways:
- By Trick Name
- By the Author of the book from which the trick was learned
- By the Creator of the trick
- By the Book in which you read the trick
- By Keywords (e.g. "Walk-around Act," or "Mentalism," that you've associated with the trick
- By Sleights used in the trick
- By Props used in the trick
- With Any Word or phrase you've associated with the trick in the Notes section
Your search is not limited to a single criterion. You may use many different criteria, in many different combinations. You may use the Not checkbox to look for tricks that do NOT have the associated element associated with them. Examples of some of the more complex searches are:
- Coin tricks that do NOT use a shuttle pass
- A trick in a Harry Lorayne book that uses the "Ultra Move" and the Card Case
- Mentalism tricks that use a Center Tear or an Impression Device
If you want to learn more about how the Find Trick screen works, read the Find Trick Tutorial.
Once you've found a trick, you may view it in detail in the
Edit Trick Screen. Perhaps more importantly, you may print the
listing of the tricks you've found, or create an export file, so
you can share your data with other users of The Magic Database™
